Anchors Away!

Listen to Episode 30 Here!

Happy One Year Podiversary to us!!  Can't believe it's been a year.

I hope you have a chance to eat at The Old Spaghetti Factory someday if you haven't already.  The half mezzithra cheese and half mushroom sauce is my FAVORITE!!

A few of our brood of chickens.  Notice little white Duke in the back.  So cute!

And here's Edie 2 aka Stripe, the talking hen.

Sock Summit 2011 was ALL that everyone said it would be!!  If there is another one, you MUST try to attend.  Here are pics of two of my highlights.

Passing through Sockgate at the entrance to Sock Summit 2011

(photogragher was a stranger I grabbed, apparently she really liked the carpet)

With Peggy Stuart and family...

With Judith McKenzie (such a thrill)
And with Stephanie Pearl McPhee

Yes, Rick really did win best of show with the motorcycle he built and yes, that is Steven Tyler sitting on it.

  3. So excited you are back. Enjoyed the Anchor story. laughed out loud. Sitting with the older couple eating dinner was too precious. It reminds me that children love grandparents and will find someone to fit the part. How they must have enjoyed her company. Please don't worry about going over an hour. We love it! Hope to see you again at Stitches South. Glad you are happy in your new home. It sounds wonderful.

  5. Hi Carin and Rick - just tried to post this review on iTunes but not sure it let me, so I'm copying what I wrote in this comment form. Best, Penelope

Yesterday I listened to the latest episode of The Knit Wits ("Beaks...") and felt that I had to say something. This podcast is FREE. Rick and Carin do not insist on any kind of monetary payment. Rick and Carin produce one of THE best podcasts I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Rick and Carin are human - they are not gods who can somehow continue to podcast on a regular basis as they move across the country, find a new home, settle in, resume home-schooling, look for work, and establish connections in their new location. Podcasting may SOUND easy, but the production of a quality episode takes hours upon hours of work. How do I know this? I don't. But it's obvious - anyone who has listened to an off-the-cuff podcaster knows the difference between excellence and mediocrity.

I have not donated, dollarwise, to The Knit Wits Podcast. But I have listened to each and every episode, and have waited eagerly for each new installment. But who am I, (who are ANY of us?) to decide what a worthy schedule is? Whether it be once weekly, twice a month, once monthly, or once in a blue moon, I, for one, am delighted with each episode whenever they arrive. My wallet agrees - and WILL agree, when I donate NOW.

Thank you, Carin. Thank you, Rick. This isn't well written nor eloquent but I want to let you know that you are appreciated.

  6. Because I don't see a post for your November 5 2011 podcast, I want you both to know here that Rick's message that he read on that podcast was terrific. Thanks for reading a public explanation to a public comment. Also, I've missed hearing you, but as someone who has also just moved (in July, no less...), I expect it will take about a year for me (and perhaps you) to settle into the new environment. I'm cheering for you...
